I decided to re-install (update) XP Pro, having had a few minor problems. On completion of install I now get the above error on every start-up.

Trend Micro PC-Cillin then found a virus and quarantined it and gave me the option to delete, which I did.

Has anyone any idea which program uses the above file?

Try reinstalling/updating your keyboard drivers.

Thanks for that cycoze. I just checked my keyboard and find all the extra keys work except the sound indicators, which usually pop up at the bottom of the screen, although the volume can be changed with the keys. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It's getting late so I'll get down to it tomorrow and tick resolved once everything is back to normal.

Success! Thanks cycoze.

I found the floppy which came with the keyboard and re-installed. Perfect.

Thanks again for pointing the way.
