hi all, Just resloved the clock speed and ratio setting, But now just want to check that the other componets will work fine to. Ordering from Dads,
So far, we have a CD-ROM, power supply and case, and a Gigabyte motherboard, GA-7VAX/GA-7VAXP.

These are the parts we plan to order. Do u think these will ba a problem?

- AMD XP 2400+ 2Ghz FSB333
- Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB DDR AGP RP DVI VO Graphics
- ExcelStor 60.0GB UDMA100 7200rpm hard drive
-256MB 184Pin DIMM PC2700 DDR RAM Non-Parity CL2.5

Its the graphcis card i'm worried about the most, i'm 80% sure about the rest of the system.

Personally I'd get the 9500 Pro as it supports DX9 and is therefore more 'future proof'.

That's board has pretty good reviews, and is an excellent choice for teh price.

I'd also go for a Western Digital Caviar HDD. It's UDMA133 and has an 8MB cache, meaning it has a much faster 'seek time'.

I really noticed the difference when I changed mine. My HDD light barely flashes once a program has started.

Just built a machine with this board and its great. Combined with a Maxtor 80g and a nvidia fx 5200 card. Works very well indeed. I would go for the 9500 if you must go for Radeon as it supports dx9 as does the fx5200 for about £80. Don't forget to set the jumopers on the board as the default is set at 100 not 133.
