Synchronising main drive to back up drive

I have just installed a new hard drive for backing up my C: drive, is there any way i can get both drives synchronised easily. and also as cheap as possible, student on low income,

If i'm not mistaken one of the RAID arrays can do this.

Software solution [in a way] would be imaging software such as drive image click here

You could also just manually copy stuff over.
