Synch external HD with PC

  chrisbenwalker 12:34 18 Apr 07

I have an external HD with about 30 gig of music on it, and want to drag and drop all this music onto my PC's HD so as to be able to play straight from there.
I want to be able to periodically synch the two so as to just add newly added files from the external HD across to the PC's HD. (without having to remember which ones I had last transferred).
Is there a simple way of doing this. I use Acronis TI for my full backups of a laptop and the PC, although I'm not sure this is really what I need for this task.
Any help appreciated, thanks all in advance. Chris.

I have been using SyncBack for some time to synchronise and backup files from three PCs to our ext Hard drive. Very straight forward to set up,and though not free it does the job very well.

There are a number of sync tools, many free. Most/all have options for direction and to retain old versions or over-write.
SyncToy from Microsoft is free as is Allway Sync click here
Filesync click here is shareware.

I use SyncToy and find it's simplicity adequate for my purposes.
