symantec security check

i am having problems running symantec security check(virus detection) it keeps comming up:Unable to run Virus Detection

In order to run Virus Detection you must be using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher with ActiveX and Scripting enabled.

i have ie 6 and activex and scripting is enabled.
can anyone help!

I used Panda ActiveScan yesterday, and it found four infected files, which my main anti-virus programme had not picked up?.This as never happened before. My anti-virus system had to be un-installed and re-installed today, due to corruption, after conducting the on-line test.Still trying to find out, what as gone wrong.

It appears to have picked up two deleted copies of BugBear in my Outlook Express folders. The e-mails where deleted using Mailwasher but being Hotmail accounts OE still downloads the deleted messages...

cheers gaz 25 i used panda and it picked up a virus that norton didn't
