When switching on the computer i sometimes only get the blue screen. Other times it powers up o.k. When it dosn't power up i have to switch it off then on again, press crtl alt delete then it powers up. I have tried unplugging different exeernal pieces of hardware (card reader, printer etc.) but the fault is still happening. Any ideas please.

Sounds like major systems failure, or perhaps a single piece of hardware is doing it.

It'd be a lot more helpful if you could give us the specifications of your computer, such as CPU type and speed, memory size, Windows version, motherboard, hard drive, etc...

As much info about your computer as possible wouldn't hurt.
