Hi i am selling my current laptop next week but i have one thing to do first.
The laptop i am going to buy is from a friend and has no operating system installed, so is it possible if i could copy all of the contents from my current hard drive to the new laptops hard drive inc the os.

Would the new laptop boot from it?
Would it work?

thanks

What OS are we talking about?

Is it an OEM or a retail copy?

If FULL retail copy then you can transfer the license to the new laptop.

however the drivers for the old laptop will NOT work for the new one.

A fressh install is the safest option but:-
