hi there,

im looking at switching my broadband account from wanadoo (now orange) to bt internet, the main reason is i havent been able to connect to my broadband for about three weeks and they admit the problem is at there end and i had to wait for them to fix it, well im starting to get p*issed off now so my question is this....

If i cancel my account and switch to bt how long would it take before i could be up and running with BT internet?.. they are asking for a MAC number which is fine, just if i have to wait another 30 days or something for my new bt account to activate i cant be assed!!

many thanks to everyone

a mac code in general is supposed to ensure a smooth transition with at most an overnight disconnection.

I have been with AOL for 3 years, always found them good, had broadband from them for 2 years no probs with it. Customer service could be better, but there no better or worse than most, just don't let them mess you about, I always stand my ground and tell them what I think or think of them and they usual come good.

hi guys and thanks for your responces..

I decided to switch to the new bt internet option 1 which is £9.99 for the first 6 months then £17.99 then after, had fast downlaod speed so that was cool, got my MAC number off wanadoo (orange) after offering me everything under the sun to stay, anyhow im no better off as the earliest change over date is the 6th july!! another two weeks of dial up!! joy.. made me think i should have hung on a little longer now! oh well its done now!!

thanks again
