I have the file svchost.exe taking up 99% of cpu usage a lot of the time. It uses up to 1001,224k. This is a windows file and not spyware.
I have 1Gb of memory on a celeron M chip.
Can I do anything about this, or is it that the celeron is just useless?

First of all it does not help if you run two threads on the same issue. It will help others if you tick one as resolved.

svchost.exe does exist in various forms in the Windows environment. click here but it can still be malicious under the same name. Do you use zonealarm?

Do not confuse svchost, with scvhost, which has two letters transposed. They are not the same thing. The presence of scvhost may indicate a virus.

I am using zone Alarm Antispyware 7, AVG and Spysweeper. I do not use the windows firewall.
