"Suspicious scripting activity"

On Start-up, I get the above message from my Mcafee virus scan. The "problem" is in C:\WINDOWS\system32. Mcafee tells me it has stopped the problem, and when I ask for more info, I am told that something called RegWrite is the culprit. Does anyone know what RegWrite is or what it does? and should I be concerned about it? Should I keep it stopped? Or is it perfectly safe to allow it to run?

It means that something is trying to write to the registry. I would be concerned about this.

Thanks, Vog(tm). I've saved the links you've given me and will use them. I'll keep this thread open until I have - just in case I have a mega-problem.
