Suspicious e-mail

  Muergo 15:32 21 Oct 10

I have received an e-mail promoting a "Community Toolbar" by Conduit and Your Tv.

It has come through the security barriers unscathed into my PC but I have never heard of them.

Anybody know who they are? is it legitimate?

Appears legit as here's a review at CNET click here, which is a trusted site.

If it's a spam email, there is very little to stop it unless it's from a known spammer or has certain keywords that matches your filtering software. In other words, even if you have a very good spam filter (& other 'security barriers'), these kinds of emails will always get through - unfortunately no anti-spam measure is foolproof. G

The CNet site made my mind up, a contributor monikeo says it's "An Awesome Cool Tool" so that put me off straight away.

It doesn't offer anything more over existing media search outlets but at least it's not infected.

Normally Outlook Express is very good at filtering spam, this one slipped through.
