I want to play the latest dvds on my computor with full surround sound. My processor is an AMD Athlon 2600 I have creative 5.1 speakers and an Nvidia soundstorm (on board) sound card. Do I need extra equipment to produce full surrond sound? Alternatively is there a sound card which I could buy which will give me the result by just plugging in my speakers and loadong software.

It would be easier if you could quote your motherboard mak and model number.

if you have soundstorm it is my belief that you should be able to plug straight in.i would guess the drivers are on the mobo disc

The nVidia is a six channel Dolby Digital facility and should prove excellent.

You will need to check in your Multimedia section that the speakers setup is set/enabled for 5.1 rather than 2.1 etc.

DieSse,dfghjkl & Stuartli,
I think I've solved it by connectinf to my S Braket & sound card & generally trying various settings on the software
