I have installed a PowerClean by MasterPlug
Device installed which also has telephone 'in/out'.

This mnorning on boot up No dial tone
on computer or phone.

After a bit of bonce scratch - I took the phone out the the device and plugged it direct.
We have Dial Tone.

So can these things 'fail'
Are there test one can run to prove yea/nay?

Yes they can fail

I believe a power surge can sometimes destroy them, which is the reason for having them

Take it back for replacement

It may be a lead/connector issue. Try back at the shop.

Having dragged the con strip out and given it all a good rattle - all is now working.

Having taken a good look at the knitting - I have now resolved to get down there - one rainy afternoon and
sort it - How do cables get so intertwined?
They only sit there -perhaps its what they get up to when we are not looking.!
