Super GSM Reader (Serial) on WinXP does not work

  djsew 21:49 08 Jan 04

Still no joy with this device since last posting Nov03. Manufacturer will not respond to my 2 enquiries.
Software installs OK into WinXP Pro machine but will not communicate with hardware thru COM1 or COM2 even tho' I've tried adjusments to bit rate, flow control and buffer speeds.

Everything works 100% on identical PC running Win98.

Are there later serial drivers, mine is v5.1.2600.0 dated 01/07/2001.

I use the same proggie and it is fine. It does take 30 secons or so to read the card. Try uninstalling and re-installing.

Thanks Gandalf, are you suggesting a re-installation of XP?

No, just the reader. ;-)))

Still cannot get it to work, uninstall reinstall both with the hardware connected and without... Installed it on another PC running XP Home - nogo.
Tried it on neighbour's 98SE PC - it's fine. Perhaps thats the way it will have to be.
