Sub £100 PC

My room-mate is new to computers and needs a PC to learn on. He needs a CD drive for dictionaries and other reference works.

I reckon Pentium II + 64 Mbytes + 1 Gbyte HD + CD + Sound + Windows 98SE should be adequate, but don't want to give him any unlicensed software. At least the OS should be legal. I can find plenty of good Freeware like Open Office, Irfan View, etc.

I looked at eBay, but I don't like to sign up to their terms. If someone gets hold of my details I could be liable. My name has already been used too, which is really surprising.

Haven't you alredy asked this question? If not you then someone else asked the same question!

Any law against asking again after a while?

No but there doesn't seem much point in doing so. By all means refresh the original thread by posting in it (it'll then rise up the list) but there isn't much point in us all saying what we said last week.
