The modem [Silver box] Should be plugged into your PC via the USB cable and into the phone line via an ADSL filter.

You should have been sent one/two of these filters with the modem. Plug one of the filters into your main phone line socket and your phone into the phone outlet of the filter, your modem into the ADSL outlet of the filter.

Install the software for the modem before connecting it to the PC, you will probably see a message on screen telling you when to plug the USB lead into the PC. Was there no instructions at all with your modem pack?

ive already done that its just that theres this phone jack like a modem jack on the back of a puter, and i thought it must be for some thing??

this is on the b/band box

the Phone Jack you describe is either fro your 56K Modem whcih is like pointless now, or it could be the 10/100 Lan connections for networking 2 PC's together. Very similar looking but most likely to be modem connection for a 56k line. Fear not. It is sounds like you are set up right.

JOOI - click on start/all programs/startup. Is the connection program there?

usb cable goes from PC to silver box. Another cable goes from silver box to a ADSL connector which is plugged into your wall mounted phone socket.

click here for a guide to wanadoo broadband connection.

The Phone like jack you refer to is for your modem lead to connect to the filter.
