Strange problem (To me anyway)

After doing my routine Saturday morning maintainance on my PC (XP Pro SP2)
I run PC Pitstop, run spysweeper, ad-aware, defrag if needed etc.
After all of this when I opened Word a small window opened with the message
>>Microsoft Visual Basic

! (in Warning Triangle) Compile Error on hidden Module: AutoExec
(OK) (Help) .

I have used system restore and still have this message when opening and closing word.
On opening Excel the window also appears, and then a second one with
>>Compile Error on hidden Module: DistMon

Publisher and Access seem to be unaffected.
I havn't seen the message appear on other apps, but the system is now slow to close down, and connecting to the 'net takes ages (ADSL), waiting a long time for the PW to be checked.

What have I done wrong?

TIA,
Stroller
