Strange entry in Windows Explorer

There has suddenly appeared as the first item in Windows Explorer Local disc a folder 3d0e82ad87cfb3387e6a0a8c12d3, which when I open it gives: msxml4-KB927978-enu. It opens in Notepad and shows pages and pages of stuff - quite frightening! Does anyone know what this might be and what needs to be done with it.

There was a previous thread on this same topic - but unfortunately I can't find it.

However, the folder is simply the notepad 'notes' of the recent MS update KB927978.

You may safely delete the folder.

It's part of a Microsoft update click here

Thanks Jackcoms and Gongoozler. I'm still a bit unhappy because, although I thought that it might refer to a KB thing, I don't actually have that particular entry in Add/Remove. So does this mean that it wasn't properly installed, do you think? Would it be correct to delete it under those circumstances? Sorry to keep on troubling you.

Well VoG. I've deleted it!
But is it not odd that this KB was never actually installed?
Thanks all.
