Stopping Windows renaming files

  Arthur Dungate 09:03 25 Feb 03

I run two computers - one with Windows XP Home, on which I do my work. The other, is a 3-boot system with a choice of Win98UG, Win98SE, and Win ME. On this I access the Internet.

I prepare my webpage files on the XP machine, and then put them on a floppy to transfer to the Internet machine. But, in doing so, the files get renamed, usually the first letter of the name is changed to a capital, eg "name.htm" becomes "Name.htm". I thus have to re-name all the files before uploading to my websites, with consequent danger or error.

How do I stop this "automatic" and unwanted re-naming?
