Sticky CD & DVD drives

The trays on the drives will not open when the button is pressed. Inserting a pin in the tiny hole will eventually open them. I suspect that keeping the desktop computer in a very cold room has caused this. Can the drives be 'Lubricated' in any way?

Software on your PC may "lock" the drives to prevent the tray from being opened during recording or playback.

try using the eject button on one of your software programs like nero to see if the drive will open.

Scrape the 'lead' of a pencil to get some graphite dust and rub this into the edges of the tray runners to lubricate them.
