Startup problem with a Packard Bell PC.

  Nats_rahs 19:35 18 Dec 04

My PC is a Packard Bell Pentium III Win98.
This PC has suddenly refused to start up properly. The Packard Bell logo comes on screen but then freezes. If I switch off, then on again, I can access the BIOS by pressing F2. If I select "Advanced" there are no entries and the PC freezes up again. I have a floppy Startup disk and the Win98 disk but when inserted in their drives nothing happens. Any clues please?
I would appreciate your help.

Thanks for your reply to my problem.
I do not get any onscreen error messages at all
but I do get 2 beeps, then a slight delay then a third beep. I have tried another HDD but get the same results.

Not sure what BIOS you have but sounds like a memory problem. Try taking the memory sticks out and using just one at a time.

Were the beep codes any help?
