When the computer is started up windows fails to start properly, have tried to start in safe mode and restart windows normally, it just goes straight back to windows failed to start properly.I have a disc which says all my information is on this disc (TIME) it will not work. Is it ready for guy fawkes night please?

Mine is acting up as well and I have to boot it from the CD, so just leave the disc in for the time being. Changed the bios first though.

You should check your MBR and boot sector settings. Check up on fixboot, fixmbr and chkdsk click here
And take at look at your boot.ini file on the C:\ drive. Type boot.ini from start/run - don't delete /anything/ unless you are sure, or without a backup

Ok, well it's just something to bear in mind, you shouldn't need to use a CD to boot your PC every time.
