Starting up in BIOS

Win XP Home, AMD XP3200+, 512 DDR 400Mz, Radeon 9200 Asus Mobo.

This morning I booted up and my PC went straight into BIOS si i pressed escape and left without saving changes. During the rest of boot up I noticed that the Processor was shown as XP3000+

I cleaned the keyboard thinking that maybe the DEL button was sticking.

Later I switched off and booted again, straight into bios, followed same procedure as above and processor shows XP2500+

Could this simply be the battery showing signs of dying or something more sinister?

Had a similar problem using a wireless keyboard whenever the batts were going low. Though dont let the wireless throw you, might be a faulty keyboard

I later noticed that the CPU speed was wrong 1100MHz so I reset it to 2200MHz and all seems well. XP3200+ displayed during start up. I'll get a new CMOS battery tomorrow.
