start up programs

hi
how can i turn off some of programs the start up when i turn my pc on ,

START RUN type msconfig and click the startup tag and they are all listed there. WARNING be sure what you disable, if you disable something windows needs to run windows will not start and you will have to restart in safe mode to retick whatever you have disabled.
The instructions are for XP as you never said what you are using.

All the advice above is very good,i also use Winpatrol..( Dennis1's link)...once you get use to Little scotty the dog warning of anything that tries to add to your startup menu.Also you may like to consider this click here
this will tell you whats needed at startup if you do not feel confident about removing certain items.
