My desktop runs W7, it has always (from time to time) run a disk check on start up - I have allowed this & it showed a number of corrupt files , that were corrected. It now wants to run disk check on every start up , any suggestions please , Thanx.

Click Start, Run. In the Run box, type "regedit" (without the quotes) Navigate your way to: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager

Now double-click on 'BootExecute'. When the dialog box opens, change the value to: autocheck autochk * and click "OK". Close RegEdit. When you restart, CHKDSK will not run.

How to with images.

How old is the machine - it may be an indication that the HDD is on the way out.
