Standby Startup in XP

  johnoo 17:49 11 Jan 11

I have just started using the "Standby" mode in windows XP.
When the computer is in this mode the On/Off light flashes.
Generally I just have to move the Mouse to bring the M/c to life, but on certain occasions this does not work & I have to slightly touch, but not press, the On/Off button.
Is this a normal type of problem?
I don't want to put the M/c in for repair for such a small point but should I be concerned?

What happens if you press a button on the keyboard?

If that doesn't work either, try the steps at click here. G

Due to your help and diligence, I looked at the article you quoted on e How which gave me a great deal of help.
It also led me to this article which states that “Touching the On/Off switch” is a way of getting the M/c out of Standby mode.
Hence the problem I thought I had does not exist.
Thanks again
