Sstext3d error code

  prima12 18:58 17 Feb 06

Hi all, I am running w98se and my 3dtext screensaver is locking up and giving me the above error code. I have tried downloading OpenGL again but it made no difference, it does it when I have the clock as the screensaver, I haven't tried any other 3D screensavers as yet. As far as I know I have all the latest updates installed, any suggestions? P.

Hmm, To be really honest,

That seems like a kernel/fatal error or a Lack of RAM.

What are your specs, im guessing because of the Win98SE it isnt very powerful.

Hi Matt,Specs are: AMD Athlon XP 1700+ 1.47GHz, 40Gb HDD, 256Mb DDR Ram on a MSI Socket A MS-6390L M/B. If I run any of the other 3D screensavers including 'Open GL' they all run OK. Paul

have you tried replacing the file in case it's corrupted - find it in WIN98_52.CAB

  prima12 18:06 19 Feb 06

I have found the file in 'regedit'it shows (ab) 'b' "WIN98_52.CAB".
I presume it is on the W98se disc, if I extract it from the disc where do I store the file to.

to windows\system\

I extracted the cab. file from the CD but still no luck, looks like I will have to wait until I do I a clean & reinstall, which I was hoping to get away without doing, but there you go, you can't have everything can you. Thanks for everyones help anyway. Paul
