SSD drive on Netbook needs re-setting?

I have a Dell Inspiron 910 Netbook with an 8GB SSD. I have been unable to reinstall Windows. At a computer fair, I was told that the SSD sometimes goes stupid and needs to be re-set.Does anyone know how I can do it.

I have tried Dell and they are useless, as usual.

The drive is an STEC PATA 8Gb.

How old is the drive? More info click here.

If that doesn't work then check the drive. I'd remove it and insert in a caddy. On a working machine install SpeedFan 4.44 (click here) ,then connect the caddy via usb,and under the S.M.A.R.T tab, in SpeedFan, select the correct drive from the dropdown menu. Once selected then click on 'Perform an in-depth online analysis of this hard disk'. That will bring a page up to show the state of the SS drive.

In the end I was not able to re-set the SSD myself. I sent it off to an outfit thats on ebay. Cost me £3.50, inc postage, and now it all seems to work OK.
