I am running SQL server 2000 on my home PC for devlopment purposes and connect to the internet using tne NTL 128K BB service with one of those dirty little silver ambit modems (branded as NTL:BroadBand).
The problem is this:
I can start running SQL server OK, but after running it for so long the internet connection is dropped and my PC's DNS is suffixed with CableModem, then the SQL server manager process goes to 100%.
I have tried everything I can think of such as hiding the SQL server in the server/client managers, adding a default suffix to DNS settings, but with no effect.
Any ideas will be welcome.
