I have had Spywareblaster installed for some time and updated it regularly.
However, seeing there was a new update shown on this site, I double clicked on the icon and immediately got a "This program has performed an illegal operation" message Details:
SPYWAREBLASTER caused an invalid page fault in
module SPYWAREBLASTER.EXE at 0197:0040bbbd.

I tried to launch the program again direct from Start Programs and got identical result.
Next I removed the program using the uninstall tool provided and donwloaded again from MajorGeeks.
Reinstalled and got exactlty the same result when trying to run it.

Has anyone else had any problems like this, or does anyone have an answer?

Thanks

What version do you have? The latest is 3.4 which is not technically an update. You need to download it as a new version and install it.

Thanks VoG.

Will do that, and post an update here if it gets resolved

Eventually found the answer on the Wilder's Secirity Forum - but as an answer to someone else who asked after me!

Please try installing the latest Visual Basic 6.0 run-times, and see if it fixes the problem:
