I just wondering how you know if Spywareblaster has detected ant threats. Its been installed on my computer for about a year and to date all I seem to do is update it.

Recently discovered through the Forum A Squared free edition which after one scan picked up 150 items that had to be quarantined.

This included four Trojans and loads of Tracking Cookies.

Avast free edition also installed so puzzled as to how these have got through to my system.

My question is do I need to install a fully paid version of Anti virus software to prevent further problems.

Spywareblaster does not detect threats, it simply blocks all the threats that are in it's list. This is why you need to keep it up to date.

I should also say that Avast is an Anti Virus program which will detect viruses (you do not need to get a paid version)
A Squared detects malware (Trojans and Tracking Cookies.)which is what it has done, as long as you keep it up to date and scan regularly you will be OK.

rawprawn.

I am grateful for both your replies.

Thanks for explaining how Spywareblaster works.

Will now continue as before.

Thanks again.

Tony.
