spoolsv.exe and 100% CPU usage

  woodwind 03:16 23 Nov 03

Running XP Home with a home network - just one other machine. spoolsv.exe is insisting on 98% to 100% CPU usage. Can't do any work unless I close it down then of course I don't have access to printing. Tried setting a lower prority in Task Manager but I am denied access.

It's driving me nuts. Anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks.

Spot on. I too found that I had a new "printer" called Microsoft Office Document Image Writer which had a hung job. I have a feeling that this may be something to do with Office 2003 which we recently installed.

Many thanks Maj, problem sorted.
