Spool32 - Illegal Operation

Twice today & on a number of previous occasions Spool 32 has performed an illegal operation and shut down. Works ok (at least for a while) after reboot.

Can anyone tell me what this relates to and any causes/cures.

In fact I guess its do do with my Epson c80 printer as that fails to work afterwards. Have had the printer for a while but have recently connected it by a recently installed USB port (Also recently upgraded from windows 95 to 98)

Thanks for the link. It has taken me sometime to look into this as the fault is intermittent. This also makes it difficult to follow the troubleshooting proceedures.

The symptoms are very similar to those described for printing on a Network in so far as the fault is intermittent (incidently the error message can occur when I'm not trying to print), printing hangs, the printers dissapear but reappear on reboot.
However i'm not on a network and the Microsoft knowledge base says that particular problem doesn't arise on Windows 98.

The details of the error mesasage are:
SPOOL32 caused an invalid page fault in
module SPOOL32.EXE at 0167:00402015.

Does this mean anything to anyone?
