sponsored links?

i run xp pro ie6 sp2 and just tried out of curiosity to access the 'sponsored' links at bottom of forum page and am surprised to find they do not work ie page cannot be displayed, is it only me or general?

If you're using adblock in Firefox, or a HOSTS file in IE, they will be blocked because they're ad links.

i have modified hosts so that may be the answer, i did it to get rid of the very annoying hp scroll ad.
