splitting a video file by time

I have a number of video files which i would like to split up in time sections, eg the first film needs to be split at minute 24, and 10 seconds, and again at minute 50 and 3 seconds etc.

Can anyone recommend any decent software that will allow me to do this without recoding the video- ie take a few seconds to do, and retain the file in its avi format?

iriverter (designed for iriver media players) can do it however I am fairly sure that it is not possible to do this quicker than the way iRiverter or other encoders do it. This is due to the compressed nature of AVI files.

Google it, it is totally free to download. 0.16 is the latest version.

thanks for the reply- i have downloaded and installed it,

problem i am having is how do i split it?
i can only see the option to split the whole file into sections of say 60 mins, not the ability to specify where i can create each split. am i missing something?
