Splitting two Video files.

In the continuing battle with my local NHS I have finally been sent a CD and DVD (seemingly they were unsure whether I could play a DVD or not, hence DVD and CD).
The disks contain two Video Fluroscopy files (videos of my swallowing action) but they are on the disks as one file, the file date will suddenly change midway through total playback.

I would like to split the files so that they are separate.

How do I go about doing this?

What format is the file in?
If Windows Movie Maker will accept the file then you should be able to split it. Other video editing programs will also allow the file to be split.

As I type this I am installing WMM so hoping that will do the job, also I remembered another program which might do Virtualdub click here
