spliting/adding avi files

  Confab 16:57 19 May 03

I have some large avi files that I would like to split and/or add other avi files to. Could anyone recommend some good software - preferably free that could do this for me?

Thank you

I use HJsplit - very popular and easy to use.

And it's freeware.

Peckjoin is good for joining [what else?]as long as the files have the same properties. Also freeware.

VirtualDub is also good freeware editor.

The first one[HJSplit] is really for creating smaller chunks for transmission which then are reconstituted upon receipt,so probably not what you want.
