Speeded up AV on reload of Windows XP

I have a Compaq (old) laptop and reloaded Windows XP from scratch. All works, except anything recorded plays speeded up and I have no way of slowing it down. Same with live action Youtube etc etc. Have I got a ghost in the machine or simply need to tweak something?

Thanks

Have you reloaded all your drivers?

I thought so - what is the fail safe to do this? How can I tell what I need to reload?

Thanks

I should add that it speeds up everything - even AV from BBC directly off websites in teal time - not only recorded media.

thanks

Sorry I have not got back to you before now.
You could try this,click here
or you can go to the compaq site and get the drivers from there.
You will of course need to know your model number.

If you go to the start button/control panel/system/hardware/device manager, this will show you what drivers are missing, you will see a red cross/yellow triangle.
Any drivers that are missing these are the ones to get first.
Let me know how it goes.
