Speed of hard disks

I am just about to perform a major upgrade of my computer and have purchased an ultra ATA 133 hard disk - my present disk is ATA 66. If I ran both on the same IDE connector would there be noticeable slowdown or would it be better to just use the new disk? Also is it possible to retrieve data from the old disk as slave if I connected it temporarily? I will be using Windows XP on the new one and have Windows 98SE on the old in the first partition (it has 4).

Slow down when you transferring files.

But just having them connected together - no.

You can slave it and copy files over.
