Spec for media streaming using windows home server

I've just setup a home server using WHS, and the primary use is be to wirelessly stream standard definition video from the hard drive to the lounge pc.

It works well be I'm concerned about the energy consumption & heat (E6600, Abit Ab9-Pro, X1950 Pro GPU).

I don't know much about "servers" so could anyone recommend a CPU/mobo combo that would keep heat and energy usage down while still perfoming its main function well please?

Thanks in advance.
