Speaker problem

I have a Creative 7 speaker system but do not wish to install all of these with wires trailing around my study. I have therefore installed the central one, a right one and a left one, along with the sub-woofer. I have tried all the various settings but get a deep echo rather than good sound. I get no sound at all from the central speaker. Any ideas please?

You only get the full 7.1 sound if your sound source is recorded as 7.1. Thus, if you are playing a stereo record - that's all you'll get.

For your system to work properly you should have all your speakers wired correctly, even if you don't have them in their "correct" positions - otherwise there is no point in having the system.
