speaker problem

I have 5.1 surround speakers on my Dell system, but for some reason today they are only working on the seperate speaker which turns the speakers on, and not on the other 4 speakers i have.

I have been to the control panel and sounds & audio devices and they are still set on the 5.1 option, but for some reason it is not working.

Would apreciate any help guys

Try turning it from say 2.1 back to 5.1 this works on my Audigy when it does this.

everest will show all componants and should give you info on your soundcard ie driver make etc and possibly a link to update your driver its not a test ;but your computer information.Handy when you want some info.

in everest expand my computer click on summary and scroll down to multimedia your audio device will be listed.

double click on the audio device should give you product information and driver download.
