SP3 and stuff does change around it seems

Prior to SP3- on boot up I always got a No disk in drive warning - It was referring to the Multi Card reader- which had no cards loaded - the warning always came up twice before settling.
A recent Windows update included SP3.
Now on Boot up the 'No Card 'warnings' no longer appear but in its place I get

I clear the warning and nothing further amiss happens.
So I assume means the same thing.
or does it?

It probably is, but could be looking elsewhere.

Open up control panel > Device manager and check to see if you have any yellow exclamation marks on any entry there.

The only yellow in System/Device man/Hardware is the Raid Controller driver- which as I don't have a 'Raid' set up or driver it's normal to see that one.

Must be looking for those cards in the reader then...If you want to you could disable them from device manager, you wouldn't get the message but would have to re-enable to use.

It might be worth a try just to confirm that the system isn't looking for raid drivers.

Will book mark that page for reference.
As stated there is - so far -no actual problem -but being Windows every thing is fluid

"on boot up I always got a No disk in drive warning"

I would have thought you would only get this if something in the startup procedures was looking for something on a card.

Check carefully what's set to run at start up time - this little tool makes it better than msconfig, and very easy to do.

A very useful item- have downloaded and installed
We shall see what happens

I just came back from a client who had just developed that identical error.

Turned out to be down to HP printer software, which I had to reload!!
