Anyone know if it is safe to plug a SP2 external hub into a SP1 socket?

Many thanks.

Do you mean plug a USB 2.0 hub into a USB 1.0 socket?

If so then yes, but it will run at USB 1.0 speed

You can buy a PCI USB 2.0 card with four USB sockets plus an internal socket for around £10 to £12.

By doing that you could attach your hub and obtain the full benefits of the additional speed, along with three (or four including the internal) extra sockets.

By the way, SP1 and SP2 are Windows Service Packs.

Stuartli-I will look into your idea, very much obliged to you.
