Soundblaster capture card stutters

  spikeychris 13:46 15 Jul 04

Running XP on a fire wire, it grabs the pictures fine but the sound stutters its way through. It's not for me its one of me punters so that’s all the info I have.

He's updated the driver but that killed the system as it just kept re-booting. This suggests a driver problem so he uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times. I'm up to me eyes in it at the momment and would appreciate some feed back

Only things I can think of is to shut down all programs and background processes that aren't required for the capture.

Maybe not enough RAM?

Hard Drive not fast enough?

Cheers smegs for the refreshes. It turns out it was a problem with the tape he was recording from, mmmmmmmm
