I've just purchased a Creative Soundblaster 5.1 Live. and I need to purchase speakers for it. Does anyone have any ideas what sort of speakers will I need. I belive that it takes 3 types of speakers, Front, rear and centre. What sort of speakers will I need for each of these? If possible if you could send me the link from ebuyer I would be greatfull.

I am using the same sound card, and the speakers I use are the Creative Inspire 6.1 6700, purchased from Argos priced £99.99. A friend who also has the same sound card uses the Creative Inspire 5.1 5100 speakers priced at £69.99.
It all depends on how much you want to spend? You could go for a basic set and adjust your sound card settings to suite e.g 4.1.
I must admit that the sound quality from both of the above systems is superb.

PS there are lots more options available that those from ebuyer. Try any of the online shops of your local pc world.

Or if you are near a morgans shop, they have logitech ZXR-500 for about £45 - excellent value.

Thanks for your help.

What are the Subwoofer System all about?

Subwoofer - gives a bit of "boom" to your sound. It is a largeish box - the .1 in the name.

If you are short on cash you could get 2 sets of 2 speakers as the card also has 4 speaker out sockets for analouge. There are 2 speaker out Jack plugs. One for the front and one for the back sets of speakers.

Also the Videologic ZX500 5.1 speakers work really well with this card, I have the same setup, and I'm very pleased. Approximately £65-00 £70-00 for the speakers. J.

I have the same sound card as you and I use the NISIS S7 system, they are loud and give good quality. They cost me 100 quid about 9 months ago, and are still performing sound as good as ever. Whatever you get make sure it suits you're needs.
