Sound too low?

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 with all a set of quad speakers plus base all turned to maximum. Settings on PC all set to max as well & I can't get any real volume out of the system. I have tried every setting I can think of & find but still not loud enough. Its like listening to a normal face to face chat. Bout that loud!!
Does anyone have any ideas, I have no more dials or buttons to turn!

The Dimension 9200 has on-boards Audigy2 Soundblaster 7.1 so it should be capable of blasting out plenty of sound.

You should have the Creative software which includes Media Source Go with Surround Mixer, Speaker Settings and a Diagnostic system. Perhaps if you run the Diagnostics it might give you an indication if anything is amiss?
