Sound Problems

Running WinXP SP2 with all updates complete. Have an SB-Audigy Sound-card installed with Creative 5.1 speakers. Haven't got any sound at all other than a 'click' when I switch on. Have checked Control Panel/ Sounds & Audio Devices, as well System/ Device Manager etc. No conflicts on the system, everything installed as it should be. Run Diagnostic check and it tells me that the 'Sound fonts Setting' have failed their Test. Have been onto the Audigy site and checked their FAQ's and Knowledge Base and subsequently re-installed drivers. Everything went OK. No 'mute' buttons ticked so the question is, have I missed anything or is there something I haven't done?
Any help much appreciated. Aitch

Some in depth info here and some tests you can preform, having read some of the link the only resolve may be a new card...

Thanks for the reply. Looking at it, I think it might be a little out of my depth. At the back of my mind I thought it might come down to a new card.
