For some reason when I put my lead from my speakers into my socket at the back of my pc, Im unable to get and sound. At the momment I am using the earphone jack for my music etc. So I know it isnt a problem with the speakers. Could it be a setting in windows vista that I have accidently changed or perhaps a problem with my sound card? It is a new pc and I don't want to get intouch with pc world untill iv tried a few things first incase it turns out to be something and nothing. cheers

Obvious ? you are trying the speaker lead in the correct socket. and how does the fact the headphone socket works prove the speakers are ok

i take it your using the earphone jack in the front of the system

this is internally connected to the socket at the back via the onboard connecters so trying the speakers in the front socket will make them work just check you sond control panel that you havnt switched off main sound
