Sound problem

On my laptop (Advent 7450 runnig Win98SE) I no longer have any sound. Playing music through Windows Media Player (v7) apparently plays but no sound, the same track through Real Player (v10) gives an error - "A General Error has occurred" which more info explains as "Cannot open audio device. Another program may be using it." Real Player plays Internet Radio without error but also no sound!

I have no idea what program may be using the audio device (nothing in active programs gives me a clue) and Control Panel/System/Device Manager indicates everthing working properly?

Try removing the driver via the device manager and reboot; it could be a corruped driver.

Thanks - re-installing driver did the trick.
